Jeff and I just got back from our December week in Vegas. Yes, we had a blast. No, we did not win any money. (Didn't lose any either. Which is technically a win because the drinks are free. Well a dollar for each drink for a tip to the cocktail waitress, but still. So that's what? $100-$150 bucks for the week. I think. I totally blacked out one night.) So, it was a very successful trip. Minus the wretched heart burn turned to vomiting that had me in bed half one morning.
An interesting moment happened the last night we were there. Jeff and I were down to our last $100 chip. The morning had not been going all that well. So we stop at the ATM and pay the ridiculous fee. Well, that turned out to be a little short sighted, because we took that one black chip and turned it into five. It was about an hour before we said we were going to bed but Jeff said, "As soon as we get to $500, we should color up no matter if we have beers on the way or not." Well, I'll be damned if not 20 minutes after that, some crazy splitting and doubling went on and were at $500. With beers on the way. Sometimes Vegas does give you signs, and that one was to go straight to the cashier and call it a successful trip.
And things are about to get busy again, what with the holidays and all, so maybe I'll return to normal programming next year.
I'm a housewife. No, I don't have any kids. Thanks for asking though. I'm trying to lose weight...again.

I wish I could that well gambling. I recently turned $20 into $80 and felt damned lucky. Usually, I just break even. But I can't gamble big money. Just coins.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm glad you had a good time except for the puking.
ReplyDeleteWe really did. The puking did suck. It's my own fault. I know better than to drink Jack all night long.
ReplyDeleteWell, I prefer $5 tables, but that's just not always available. These were $15 min9mums, which makes me nervous, but it was the last day and we hadn't lost our asses yet. And it was single deck, which can help a lot.
ReplyDeleteBlackjack is the best game for taking $100 and making it last all day. There will always be highs and lows, highs and lows. If, and that's a big if, you follow basic strategy.
How did you win $60? Way to cash out while you were ahead. That can be the hardest part.
Sounds like fun! was it a partial work trip for Jeff so you could write it off, or was it just a good time until you puked? I'd hold your hair ya know, that's just the kind of friend I am.
ReplyDeleteJust the annual good time until I puked trip. I hope we never have to or even have the opportunity to mix business with pleasure in Vegas. This is about as sappy as I get, but Vegas is when Jeff and I indulge each other with being together almost every minute of every day. Minus digestive upsets, we are together every moment and it makes me really happy. And I'll punch someone who gets in the way of our scheduled unscheduled week.
ReplyDeleteI know you're that type of friend, but at this point in my life, I rather puking alone.
I have to say that there is nothing better than having 24-7 with the man that you love. I look forward to vacation for that very reason. It has a lot to do with the time off but the most important thing is having uninterrupted time together, even if it's a day it's totally rejuvenating for the marriage.
ReplyDeleteIf by rejuvenating, you mean bow-chika-chika-wow. Then yeah. Very rejuvenating.
ReplyDeleteLOL little bit of this, little bit of that.
ReplyDeleteThe dumb way: playing a slot machine. I noticed that if I bet low about 10 times in a row then went big once or twice, it'd pay off with a small jackpot. I did this for about three hours -- until I got bored. I was actually up to $120 at one point, but it was straining my patience, and I broke the pattern, losing $40.
ReplyDeleteWell, if it's dumb. You're with a lot of company. People love their slot machines. I get bored much faster. I have a very short attention span.
ReplyDeleteJeff has the best slot story ever. Really his best gambling story ever. Off taking some free slot play, winning $80 and then going to the tables and ended up with a $1000. I about fell off my chair.
